Miranda was thrilled to get to the summit of Kilimanjaro during her recent trip to Tanzania in February. She had put in many months of preparation and training beforehand and said on her return "This was the most fantastic experience - the weather was perfect, my guide and porters were all hugely supportive and the mountain was beautiful. It was an amazing feeling to be at the top of Africa's highest mountain".
Scottish & Southern Energy starts Project in Glen Lyon
Throughout October, Scottish & Southern Energy, Green Highland's partner company, has laid nearly 20kms of underground cable in Glen Lyon, Perthshire. The connection of the 33kV line to the National Grid is the prelude to the construction of seven small scale run of river hydro schemes which will have a total output of nearly 7MW.
Green Highland has assisted in organising and managing this project in conjunction with SSE and the Glen Lyon Partnership. Alastair Riddell, Managing Director, commented:
"I am delighted at the way the work has proceeded extremely smoothly, with the minimum of disturbance to both the landscape and the residents of Glen Lyon. The underground element of the project was completed in just thirty days".
