Unlocking Hydro Energy across Scotland
Green Highland specialises in developing small to medium scale hydro electric schemes.
Our main focus is to provide advice and solutions to landowners on sustainable hydro schemes through the whole process of design, procurement and operation.
About Hydro
Scotland has been successfully utilising hydro power in the Highlands for over seventy years and is an ideal hydro location with its mountainous terrain, lochs and rivers and a high average rainfall. There are many suitable sites in the Highlands for the development of micro hydro electric schemes. These micro schemes are often sited in environmentally sensitive areas and can be housed either underground or in existing buildings, with little or no visible impact on the landscape or harm to the environment.
